The term ‘Patients’ does not have a double meaning of ‘Patience.’ Normally the opposite is the case, and a prognosis that comes with a three week or more turnaround for natural healing to be allowed occur is normally returned with a bemused expression, and the question; ‘What can I do to get there faster?’
Your hair will never get to the point where you actually see it grow in front of your eyes (Thankfully, can you imagine the cost in blades for your razor per annum) but thankfully too there are ways and means to achieve hair that does indeed grow with pace and vigour on your scalp.
Take a growing boy for example, they seem to be able to swallow an incredible volume of food, a healthy appetite being an essential attribute to giving them the nutrition they need to grow. I am not suggesting that you start to pile on the pounds, or eat yourself to bursting point as your metabolism is likely past this stage of adolescence, and has slowed down somewhat, do eat well though.
Eat well and eat plenty, keep your body hydrated and at an optimum for optimum bodily function efficiency. Even if you were to begin treating your body as a temple tomorrow, it is still going to take months before you notice a real difference in hair growth so unfortunately you do need to be patient (No not a patient – Ed)
Driving copious quantities of what is good for will be absorbed as one of the factors behind dynamic hair growth. You will need to focus on proteins and on vitamins with the backup of additional multivitamin accrual to push forward this growth.
You can move to a warmer climate. A number of studies dating as far back as twenty years prove that hair grows faster during the summer months. The warm weather allows for a heightened production of the hormone ‘androgen,’ this hormone has been found to promote not only hair growth on the scalp, but hair right across the body (so be prepared.) However, there is the down side that all of those UV rays that will be lambasting your head will have a detrimental effect on the extra hair you grow over the long term.
This hormone is particularly evident in the male species, and may explain why people who live in warmer climates appear to have more hair than those who live in more temperate conditions. It does go against the laws of nature in a way in that the purpose behind hair growth on the head is to insulate the body, but Mother Nature threw out that rule book long ago when it came to man, didn’t she? Androgen binds to androgen receptors in the body and boosts the essence of man, allowing for speedier muscle development, and increased sex drive, with testosterone itself being the most universally known androgen.
The increased hair growth in unwanted places that women often experience as a result of taking the contraceptive pill is easily explained away by this hormones production being increased in females through taking ‘the pill.’ The hot sun promotes this hormone type in our bodies including Anrosterone which does not have the dynamic effect of escalated testosterone levels, but has been linked to quicker hair growth also.
Although not scientifically proven there is anecdotal evidence at least that massaging the scalp causes hair to grow faster too through allowing unimpeded oxygenated blood flow throughout the scalp and aiding growth by this means.
It is all well and good having quicker growing hair, but the benefit of having faster growth will be negated if you are losing hair quicker than it is growing. We all shed hair, that is a universal truth (Just ask anyone who has looked at the shower plug hole lately) but we can reduce the amount of hair that we lose by following this simple rule: Treat your hair well. Don’t overdo the hair product. Use a brush that doesn’t catch tangles and force hair from your head when it is brushed. Moisturise your hair (But of course try not to leave it wet as this leads to hair-loss in the long run)
