I think diet is the foundation for health. If somebody isn't physically healthy ,then you can't expect to be healthy. You actually need to have EPA molecules in order to get good membranes for your cells so they function properly.

I am a firm believer that what is unnatural has potential negative consequences for all of the body, and not exclusively the hair and scalp. When pushing for advanced growth from your hair, and seeking out products that will benefit you to this end, it is imperative from not only my perspective, but the perspective of dermatologists the world over, that care needs to be taken.

One topical application of chemicals that promises superior hair growth could do untold damage to your hair in the short, and the long term. Now the oil that is plucked from beneath the earth is a natural substance too, but you won’t find any scientific evidence backing its use upon your scalp, and I advise against it.

There are many other natural oils however with which headway can be made to improving hair growth and hair elasticity, either through massage into the scalp which in itself promotes fast hair growth through allowing increased oxygenated blood flow to the hair follicle, or elasticity through application directly to the hair itself. These oils are an essential in your battle to achieve fast growing hair.

The protective barrier that is the cuticle of the hair can be circumvented by the natural properties contained within. It is as though the keratin composition of the hair itself despite the fact that it is a non living entity understands what is good for it (Of course this is a simplistic representation, you will find the scientific explanation further into this article.) The benefits of coconut oil are by and large underutilised by many who are seeking to grow their hair fast. The fact that it is a naturally occurring substance easily acquired at many retail outlets means that the Internet is void of many marketers who choose to purvey expensive, and by and large underwhelming non natural alternatives.

The dead protein filaments can be moisturised with coconut oil without negative effects for hair growth or otherwise. It is also of benefit in the cleaning process, and is a useful addition to any hair grooming repertoire. Moisturising with this substance stands to make the hair more easily controlled and manoeuvrable, with the added benefit of reducing the number of split ends you will experience. Unhealthy looking hair along with reduced breakage and premature shedding (Unfortunately all hair has a best before date, and will expire after a period of time, it can be months or it can be years, but treating your hair well will improve its vital statistics) can be avoided through internal and topical application of this essential oil.

Used for thousands of years as a treatment for hair, its usage has lessened somewhat in recent times. The fatty acids contained in coconut oil can be of benefit in feeding the ‘sebaceous gland.’ This gland in turn feeds the hair follicle beneath the skin with the lubricant it needs to bring life and keratin creation inside the follicle below the scalp. This adds to the healthy mixing pot of cell division internally, thereby promoting stronger and faster growing hair.

By virtue of the fact that this substance is natural and inexpensive there has been a limited amount of clinical research into its merits, yet an Indian study by Marico Industries Ltd has published findings that denote how after a series of studies on other oils, coconut oil was the only essential oil in the studies that has a positive effect aiding the user to achieve great hair results. The findings determined that coconut oil managed “To reduce the protein loss remarkably for both damaged and undamaged hair when used as a pre wash and post-wash grooming product….. Coconut oil being a triglyceride of lauric acid (principal fatty acid) has a high affinity for hair proteins and, because of its low molecular weight and straight linear chain, is able to penetrate within the hair shaft.” The study also found that by this moisturising means, the hair is protected from the abrasion caused by extensive brushing. The abrasion caused by brushing normally leads to hair damage.  This essential oil is used primarily in developing countries where coconut trees dot the landscape currently.

The clinical tests used real human hair in the process, and found that when weighted against other essential oils, it was four times more beneficial in helping hair to retain its lustre and promoting sheen, shiny hair that looks great. With regard to making the hair grow faster no such results have been collated, and the evidence is merely anecdotal, but it serves to reason that if it is successful externally then it should be successful internally also.

With no negative repercussion from its application to the scalp, there is no harm in trying, unlike many of the other products out there consistently more expensive, consistently less effective, and consistently more damaging to your chances to grow great hair fast.
